A MeDiPro
Antibody Screening Cell kit
includes three bottles of screening
cell (Ⅰ.Ⅱ.Ⅲ.) and two bottles
of ABO reverse typing cell (A
cell and B cell). Antibody screening
cell are 3% suspensions of group
O cells differing in antigenic
configuration for use in antibody
screening, and are selected
to enable detection of most
clinically significant blood
antibodies. The antigen typings
of each donor are provided on
the antigenic constitution matrix
that accompanies each product.
Antibodies react with red blood
cells processing the corresponding
antigenic determinant which
is antibodies and erythrocytes
forming agglutination.
ABO
reverse typing cells are designed
for routine ABO blood grouping
by detection of ABO blood group
antibodies in serum or plasma.
Ordinarily, individuals possess
antibodies directed toward the
A or B antigen absent from their
own red cells. This allows the
serum of an individual to be
tested with known A and B red
cells to demonstrate the presence
or absence of the ABO blood
group antibodies anti-A, anti-B
and/or anti-A,B (reverse grouping).
Any discrepancies found between
the forward and reverse grouping
results may be due to unusual
genetic blood group variants
and must be resolved prior to
the ABO Group being reported
or used for transfusion.
